This morning was a whole ass party!!! 

Woke up feeling goodt. 

Yesterday my job hosted a Chef Tasting of the new items on the menu for the Spring Season. I decided I didn’t want to eat alone so I invited a colleague of mine.

I’ve been getting to know them for a couple of months and they are really cool. We are both Geminis so you already know the vibes are top-notch. The jokes hit. They can talk to strangers with ease. This is a huge plus in my book because sometimes I just decide to talk to strangers about something. Their answers will surprise you. Nothing weird… just answers you didn’t expect because you are you and they are a stranger who you know nothing about. 

Anyooo because we had hung out before during a karaoke event I had decided to invite them to this tasting event. 

And boy I’m glad I did! She likes Gordon Ramsay! We were critiquing the food as he does on Kitchen Nightmares or should I say Hells Kitchen. (The restaurant’s food was pretty good)

The food on Kitchen Nightmares is trash. Food is wayyy past its expiration date and everything is microwaved. If I wanted microwaved food I would’ve stayed home. 

They served a Heart of Palms imitation crab cake! Oh my goodness! It was delicious! I don’t like crab cake but that right there was finger-licking good! They put, I believe it to be pea purée underneath the crab bite. (See what I did there, “purée”.) 

Then they had this dark chocolate cake covered in dark chocolate. The covered dark chocolate wasn’t wet. It was a hard chocolate shell. The base was a white sauce. I should’ve asked what it was so I could try to make it myself. 

Then my favorite was the fried zucchini stuffed with a piece of white cheese. I don’t even like zucchini. When we first tried it the waiter came and left. It was so good I wanted to slam the table with my fist and say “Give me 14 of them” lmao 

I asked another waiter if there were any more and the lovely man brought out a huge tray of them. I thought he was going to place the whole tray at our table but he just allowed us to take a few. Ahh, they were so good. 

I wasn’t too keen on the cheesecake. It was dry. They said it’s supposed to be dry… I’ll just leave that there. The cake with the twirly whipped cream icing on it is carrot cake. I surprisingly like carrot cake but that carrot cake was not it for me. I don’t know what that was. 

They served halibut as well but I didn’t like it. I don’t know if I genuinely didn’t like it or if I didn’t like it because I had eaten two chocolate cakes before I tasted it. The fish was flaky but the sauce that was under it wasn’t it. 

Overall the event and the company was good. It was nice to savor wonderful food and wine in good company. I’m learning hanging out with good people heals the heart and makes the world less lonely for little ole me. I do need people. Sometimes hermit mode takes over a little too much. I’m blessed to have moments where I’m reminded to go outside and have a nice time.
