Can I be frank with you? 

A bunch of people at my job almost didn’t have a job. Not for anything for their doing but because new management has rolled in and are changing things up. 

And I wouldn’t say for the better 

I’m sad 

I’m angry 

I’m pissed off 

People in DC are being fired left and right for no reasoning at all. 

Budget cuts 

We want budget cuts

But the cuts that are happening are affecting people and their livelihoods. 

Can we cut the military budget? 

Can’t we cut something else that doesn’t equal people who are doing good work being fired? 

People who are getting fired are the ones who silently help the world go round. Who are the true heroes with the cape.

Seeing everyone around me drop like flies makes me think my time is coming and it’s only a matter of time. 

It’s very scary

I was once angry about it because like again?! 

But I think I’m at the point where I’m like-okay. 

What’s next 

And even though I have that mindset 

People who are raising families, people who take care of loved ones, people who depend on them for their health insurance….

They are probably panicking and freaking out praying for a job interview before the escape door opens up underneath them. 

I know at times life throws left and right punches at you and you pray to just get through this one storm. 

But for it to be one person to cause this much havoc on a city….

The feeling that comes with it is helplessness. 

I pray that something or someone reaches out to give us a helping hand. To make all of this feel less lonely, less scared. And their presence gives up hope and faith.
