30 days of writing is what I’m am doing. 30 days period no matter if I skip a day or two. 30 days of writing. I’ve been wanting to do this for a good min. To exercise my writing and hit publish muscle. 

Even though I’ve been writing for a good minute every time I publish something I still get so damn nervous. Not so much of worrying what people are going to say… more so expressing myself in my truest form to the outer world. I’m screamingggg 

Here’s to Day Two.

Hi I’m Say.

Okay yesterday I talked about me and my friends going out and how I missed them dearly. Wellllllll I didn’t mention how there was some… well 1 looker at the event. I had my eyes on them since I had walked through the door. 

Denim tuxedo, black tie, and black rectangle shades, locs down to the back. Tall, dark and handsome (Black people version) and they just looked like they smelled good. Lol

Out of my friend group I am the single one. Phone is dry as the desert. I have been putting myself out there with verrrrryyyyyy little success. Rejection is new direction and/or a saving grace. Yes. Sooo because of that I have just chalked it to the Universe wants me to sit down and mind my business. Get my shit together right? 

Buttttttt- would she let a looker be at this event? 

All 3 of us finally are at the event. I’m eating this bomb ass fish and collard greens. I wish I had left overs to take home. Turn on a good movie, eat my food and swing my feet on the edge of the bed because it’s just so delicious and every bite makes me dance in my seat. 

Again since I’m… (I was going to say single as a Pringle but pringles aren’t even single. They come in a whole group, community) I’m single, they of course ask me who I have my eyes on… I tell them. 

One of them even offer to go and talk to them for me. Nice try but nope mama can do this on her own. 

We go about the event. Look at some clothes… paintings. Everything in the event is Black Owned and Black people are everywhere. Swoon. Looking around DC it doesn’t feel like Chocolate City anymore. Being at this event automatically releases the stress. 

Everytime we spot them across the room they are with a group of people talking it up. I’m trying to figure out what to say. Listennnnn, I am not the smoothest talker especially when I have to say something first. Ahhh I have face planted trying to talk to this girl while my friend was on FaceTime with me. 

Ahhhhh the shit is nerve racking. The  perfect time comes and all of a sudden the words that come out of your mouth is nothing but gibberish. 

My friends and I are at the bar laughing with a group of girls we met. Come to find out the girls we are talking to are the girls I spoke to in the bathroom who so happen to be the background dancers for a women rapper who performed at the event.

*exhale*

(Pauses. 9:43 am) 

(Play 9:45 am) 

At a certain point everyone is talking and I just get up from my seat and go to the target. As soon as I get up, I feel my friends eyes on me. 

“Hey you look familiar.”

The only fucking think I could think of lmaoooo 

He’s like I went to school here, do you know xyz. I’m describing people he may know. I’m trying to make this conversation out of thin air. To help with this I pull out my phone to check to see if we have any mutuals and I’m praying that we do. 

And we dooooooo but I can’t find a way to swing the conversation. To start the flirting. Do you start the flirting or does it just happen? Lmaoo ahhhhhhh

I’m at the point where I’m like, “Okay I tried. Let me just call this one a night.”

As we are ending the conversation I compliment their outfit. 

“Clock it!”

He says.
